Individual Psychotherapy
My therapy practice will provide you the opportunity to talk intimately with someone who is trained, learned, compassionate, patient, and dedicated to understanding you and your struggles. As my client, I will challenge you and help you to think critically in order to help you discern your way through difficult times. We will explore together the meanings that you make of your experiences and consider the choices and responsibilities inherent in your life. My hope for all of my clients is that their compassion grows not only for themselves, but also for others; and that they learn to use their own wisdom, as well as the wisdom of trusted others, to guide them through the interpersonal and social problems of our time and to create a life that is satisfying and meaningful to them.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
Humans are relational and meaning-making beings. When there are conflicts it often has to do with the meanings we make of others and of ourselves which may be inaccurate or incomplete. In our work together we will create safety and space to consider how you approach your relationship and sustain it. We will explore taken-for-granted beliefs that you may have about yourself and your partner that may not be serving either of you. With these new understandings you and your partner may be able to build a closer, satisfying, and meaningful relationship.
Consultation
In addition to psychotherapy, I provide clinical consultation and supervision as a Washington Department of Health Approved Supervisor.
